During a full-body skin check, we carefully inspect every area of your body for new or changing moles, growths and lesions that may indicate a potential malignancy. We perform these exams with the latest equipment and technology, including devices that enable us to spot changes in a lesion much earlier than possible using the naked eye. This helps ensure that any potentially dangerous changes are caught and treated as early as possible, greatly improving treatment outcomes and minimizing the chances of the malignancy spreading to other parts of the body.

Once a potential malignancy has been identified, we can use laser treatments to destroy it or to remove some of the surrounding tissue to reduce the chance that the cancer will recur. Before beginning any laser treatment, we will carefully mark the affected area with a surgical pen and numb it with a local anesthetic. Depending on the type of laser treatment, you will feel sensations of heat in the affected area for about five to ten seconds. We also have the ability to provide our patients with nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for increased comfort during the procedure. After the procedure, you will need to keep the area covered with a thick ointment and avoid sun exposure until new skin completely covers the affected area.
